 | Porcelain Repair Kit for Clawfoot Tubs - Porc-a-fix
This product is recommended to repair small chips or dents. The Porc-A-Fix Kit includes both the porcelain filler and the porcelain touch up glaze to fix your damaged area. This kit is to touch up interior damage to your bathtub. We also offer touch up glaze for the exterior of your bathtub. Example of damaged area. Before applying the filler make sure to remove any loose particles. Chipped porcelain is very sharp so please be very careful not to use your hands when removing any loose particles. Clean the area and make sure it is completely dry. Avoid cleaners that leave oily or soapy residue. The manufacturer recommends using acetone. Make sure to shake the filler well before opening. Apply the filler using a putty knife or spatula slightly overlapping the damaged area. Allow for 15-30 minutes drying time. Sand the area with 220 grit or smoother sand paper until flush with the undamaged porcelain. Avoid sanding into the undamaged area to prevent scratches. If repair is not satisfactory you can always reapply Porc-a-filler and sand until it is acceptable. When your repair is complete make sure to clean and dry the area. You are now ready to apply the touch up paint. When applying the paint just remember that several lighter coats are better than one heavy coat. |
